La giornata inizia con un tour e una degustazione della fabbrica di rum Appleton Estate, seguita da un tuffo rinfrescante nelle famose cascate YS e da un giro in barca fino all'unico Pelican Bar. Questa è una delle nostre escursioni private della TUI Collection, che vi permette di conoscere il sapore locale della destinazione e vi offre la libertà e la flessibilità di godervi la giornata a modo vostro.

Partendo dall'Appleton Estate, visiterete la fabbrica che produce quelli che molti considerano i migliori rum della Giamaica. Imparate a conoscere il processo di distillazione, spremete la vostra canna e, naturalmente, assaggiate il rum color miele. Proseguendo verso le acque a cascata delle YS Falls, vi rinfrescherete nelle piscine della cascata con una nuotata.

Dopo pranzo, si sale a bordo di una barca per raggiungere il Pelican Bar. Questa capanna sgangherata su palafitte deve essere vista per essere creduta. Situato sulle acque scintillanti, è probabilmente il bar più cool del mondo. Non dimenticate di incidere il vostro nome sul legno e, se avete una bandiera a portata di mano, portatela al barman Floyd. Con un po' di fortuna, potreste anche avvistare dei delfini.

We did the tour privately as the tui tour could not take my wheelchair. Appleton tour was fabulous, hot, but fabulous the tour guide was very knowledgeable and the rum tasting taught me alot. YS falls beautiful ?? and meal at the cafe was to die for. That lady does wonders in her hut. Didnt go to Pelican bar due to personal reasons so our driver took us for a drive through Black river to show us abit more of this side of the island. Talking about our drive excellent and knowledgeable very HAPPY

Appleton was excellent, YS falls were good but not enough time there, lunch was brilliant and so was the Pattie stop. Pelican Bar was an experience an hour is long enough on it, beware of the toilet and sellers! Driver the we had was incredible so much knowledge and pride in his country, 13 hour trip was incredible start to finish highly recommend

Kompetende Reiseleitung ist sehr zu empfehlen. Negativ ist das wir für den deutschsprachigen Ausflug deutlich mehr bezahlen mussten als für den englischen.

The paperwork said collection at 8am. We got a phone call at 6am while still in bed to say our driver was here. We left at 6.30am and thankfully we did. 6.30am really should be a standard or atleast 7am. We negotiated YS falls first and then the rum place. I wanted to enjoy the YS falls in peace - not at lunch time with hordes of people. We booked private so we could flip the itinary. Also drinking rum at 9.30am would have been too much and the. Walking on slippy rocks? YS falls should be 1st.

Our driver was lovely made you feel very relaxed and told us what to expect and times etc. the Rum estate was definitely worth the trip, YS falls was beautiful and the food there was lovely. Driving through the mountains you got to see the real Jamaica which we loved. The pelican bar was great to go see but glad it wasn’t just that we visited as you only need a hour there to experience and the loo situation at the pelican bar is not something you want to try. Overall a fabulous day

You'll visit the Charles Town Maroon Museum to learn about the Maroons' struggle for freedom, enjoy a tasty lunch and stroll through Sun Valley farming estate to sample fresh fruits and vegetables. Jada, one of our expert local guides, says "the Jamaican Maroons have a proud and fascinating heritage. They are descendants of enslaved West Africans who escaped from plantations and created communities known as Maroon Towns. These communities preserved their African roots – the Maroon culture is known for vibrant music, dance, storytelling, herbal medicine, and cuisine."Our first stop is at Sun Valley Plantation, a cute little farm where you'll stroll through gardens to look at tropical flowers and taste some of the fruits and vegetables that're grown here. You'll also see how the locals have farmed here for generations. Afterwards, you'll head to the Charles Town Basic School, a small school at the heart of the Charles Town Maroon community. Coffee farm hike through Jamaica’s Blue Mountains with brunch

As you hike through the misty Blue Mountains of Jamaica, take a moment to breathe in the scent of jasmine from the white-flowered coffee trees that mingle with palms, ferns and orchids in this part of the rainforest. Following the trails, you'll hear all about the traditions and techniques of coffee growing in this region – and why its beans are some of the most sought-after – and expensive – in the world. Marcus, a local guide, explains “the Blue Mountains are special, not just for their beauty, but for what they give the farming community. The high altitude, the cool climate and the rich soil are a dream for coffee growers.” The trail will take you on a leisurely trek up the mountain, past small family-owned coffee farms. Here, you'll learn more about how farmers have been harvesting ripe coffee cherries by hand, to create the mild, fruity and sweet flavour of Blue Mountain coffee, since the 18th-century. And the scenery here is pretty historic, too, like something out of Jurassic Park – think thick green rainforest dotted with waterfalls, valleys and misty mountain peaks. You'll want to keep your phone handy for pics.After a little over two miles of walking, you'll be rewarded with a cooling dip in the Blue Mountains Whirlpool. Marcus adds “don't worry – it's a deep rocky pool with a waterfall flowing into it – not a swirling vortex! It's locally known as the Fountain of Youth, so come swim off a few years.” Round off the tour by making a lasting impact on the local greenery. You'll plant a tree as part of a programme to support reforestation and sustainable farming in this part of Jamaica.
