De Fondation Maeguerite et Aimé Maeght is een vanaf de belangrijkste culturele instellingen ter wereld. De stichting werd ingehuldigd op 28 juli 1964 door André Malraux en is ontstaan buiten de vriendschap vanaf Aimé Maeght en zijn vrouw Marguerite met enkele vanaf de belangrijkste kunstenaars vanaf de 20e eeuw.

Het museum heeft een vanaf de belangrijkste collecties schilderijen, beeldhouwwerken, tekeningen en grafische werken vanaf moderne en hedendaagse kunstenaars in Europa met meer dan 13.000 referenties: een uitzonderlijke collectie beeldhouwwerken vanaf Alberto Giacometti en werken vanaf Joan Miró, meesterwerken vanaf Pierre Bonnard, Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Georges Braque en vele anderen.

    Seeing the sculptures in that beautiful natural setting was impressive, and somehow more thought provoking. The special exhibition was well curated and informative. I would have liked to see more Chagall pieces. I.enjoyed my lunch under the fir trees and had good service. Overall, a terrific experience (though the walk up that hill from lower car park took it out of me!). Many thanks.
